the Fashion Design Challenge, Theme #2, "Stripes"
featuring ~ZebraChan. I had to laugh out loud at her getting this particular theme... oh, and I stole her glasses. for artistic reaso- oh all right. I messed them up every time I tried. ^^;

Wow, two submissions in two days! :D I didn't know I had it in me...
anyway - HAPPY EASTER ALL! :glomp:

experiment: how much shading does simply doing stripes save me? and I liked the result so much I went with it for everything but the skin and hair, where I still wanted to manage lineless, at least. though I'm getting better at lineless shading, I'm still FAR away from getting recognizeable features - so sorry if I went a little wild there, Martina. still, hope you like.
(I have NO idea where all that pink came from btw... :O)
EDIT: remade the things still bothering me. :aww:

You were smart not to do loads of shading, I think - it's not always necessary and I don't think it would have added anything to the piece. Generally I'm a big fan of flat colours. Like the take on stripes - I think the stripes are a little too thin on the gloves (I'm sure they aren't in the original non-jpg, but they're quite hard to pick up). The other thing you maybe could do just to lift the figure from the background is have a thin white line around her. I like the pose, though - very dynamic.

thanks for all the advice! you're right on all of it.. reuploaded it, and with .png instead of the damn .jpg. treats the pic a lot better.
is the pink border a little too much, perhaps? ^^; I tried white and black, but the pink one just tickled me a lot more :XD:

The picture quality looks better. :nod: And she stands out more - I think my choice would have been for a white border, but you've obviously tried that. I would maybe have a *slightly* less bright pink - but you're the best judge of what looks best. :nod:

I fear this pic will get a few more remakes in the next few days anyway - need to touch up her face, readjust the hand sizes, find a better color sceme and decide on the border color - oh and the eyes need a SERIOUS remake too.

LOL I would just appreciate knowing what you meant. remember I don't play video games and so have no idea what kind of imagry that should imply ^^;
and I LOVE it when people just randomly say whatever first comes to mind. it can be so entertaining and often makes a lot more sense than first thought. :XD:
